Combined Transplants
Combined transplantation is the transplantation of both hair and beard in cases where the donor area is sufficient. This combination can be both hair and eyebrows.
If the person who will have a hair transplant will also have a beard or eyebrow transplant, the patient must be evaluated meticulously. Hair follicles in the donor area should be examined in detail. Considering that the hair follicles taken from this area will be used for both hair and beard or eyebrows, an appropriate planning should be made.
Hair and beard/eyebrow transplantation can be performed at the same time by correctly distinguishing the color of the hair follicles.
How to do combined transplants?
- First, the FUE procedure is performed.
- A second consultation is performed according to the number of grafts removed, and control and final planning approvals are obtained in this consultation.
- If there will be a hair transplant later, the hair transplant will be done first. Then, beard or eyebrow transplantation begins. If hair transplantation is not available, beard transplantation is performed first and then eyebrow transplantation is performed.
What is the advantage of combined implanting?
The first advantage is the ease of anesthesia. Since you have already had anesthesia for one procedure, the second anesthesia will be easier. Another advantage is that there is a visible change in the face when the healing process is completed. Of course, there will be more things to pay attention to during the healing process, which we can count as a disadvantage. The last factor is that from an economical point of view you do not have to travel twice and pay twice.
How long does the surgery take?
The surgery takes around 6 hours. However, you might have to short breaks for your needs. (Restroom, lunch etc.) When break times are added, the surgery duration may reach 6-7 hours.
Things to Consider After Surgery
The first week is very important. Then 15 days and the first month follow this process. Your medical assistant will share with you your schedule for nutrition, medications and sleeping in the first week. Apart from that, swimming pool, sports and wearing hats are prohibited for the first month.
