DHI Hair Transplant
DHI hair transplantation is a modern technique that allows hair to be transplanted without the need for shaving.
It takes its name from Direct Hair Implant (DHI).
In this technique, only the donor area is shaved for extraction (FUE - Folliclar Unit Extraction).
Although the technique is state-of-the-art, it is also known for its rapid post-operative recovery process.
CHOİ Pens
After FUE extraction, the grafts are kept in a special solution.
Grafts are placed one by one into DHI pens called Choi pens. Graft structure and tissue should be protected during placement.
Thanks to the Choi pen (named after its inventor, Dr. Choi), the channels are opened directly and the grafts are placed simultaneously into the opened channels.
Direct Hair Implant (DHI)
The most important speciality of this technique for us is that the channel it opens is exactly the same diameter (thickness) as the graft. For this reason, Choi Pens are available in different sizes depending on the graft thickness and thinness.
Thanks to the long tips of the pens, the hair is transplanted without the need to shave.
Unshaven Technique
Since the transplant is performed without shaving, the patient can safely return to his social life the next day after the surgery. Wounds and scabs heal very quickly with this technique. (On average in 1 week) And now all that's left is to wait for the hair to grow.
What advantage does haircut have?
Haircut does not affect your result. Generally, patients with aesthetic concerns after surgery prefer to have their hair transplanted without shaving in the DHI technique. Shaving is purely for aesthetic purposes for social life after surgery.
How long does the surgery take?
The surgery takes around 5-6 hours. However, you might have to short breaks for your needs. (Restroom, lunch etc.) When break times are added, the surgery duration may reach 6-7 hours.
Things to Consider After Surgery
The first week is very important. Then 15 days and the first month follow this process. Your medical assistant will share with you your schedule for nutrition, medications and sleeping in the first week. Apart from that, swimming pool, sports and wearing hats are prohibited for the first month.
